Since 2011, California Coast Bible College strives to provide the best training possible, personally and in ministry. We hold to a set of core values that shape our educational objectives and commit us to continually raise the academic and developmental bar. As a result, we offer the benefit of receiving a degree from the State of California.
Degree Granting Status
California Coast Bible College has been granted exempt status by the State of California to offer a theological ministry degree at the associate level. Currently, we offer a Certificate of Theology (C.Th) for those who successfully complete one year of study and earn 32 credits, as well as an Associate of Theology (A.Th) degree for those who successfully complete two years of study and earn 64 credits.
The California Department of Education has determined that California Coast Bible College qualifies for religious exempt status from the Degree-Granting Institutions Act. The CDE makes no evaluation of the administration, faculty, business practices, financial condition or quality of the offerings by this institution.
Accreditation
California Coast Bible College serves under the leadership of the governing body of elders at City Church California. This unique relationship between the college and the local church has been the basis for its strength and effectiveness. Currently the appropriate accrediting associations do not make sufficient provision for local church governed colleges, thus CCBC has not been able to pursue accreditation. It is, however, committed to instructional and academic excellence.
Transferability
All courses and a degree from California Coast Bible College is fully transferable to Portland Bible College. CCBC curriculum was primarily birthed out of Portland Bible College and, for several years, functioned as an extension campus of PBC. Many CCBC students have taken their degree and transferred to PBC to continue their education, either on campus or online.
Taxes
Tuition Tax Deductions
CCBC is privately funded and is a non-participating school in federal funding (FAFSA) and therefore does not qualify for tuition-related tax deductions under the current tax code.
1098T forms
CCBC does not provide 1098T forms. Due to privacy laws, we do not e-mail, mail, or fax statements to third parties (parents, churches, sponsors etc).
financial statements
Student financial statements are available directly on the Populi student portal under the Finance tab.
